Your Favorite Morning Drink And Why?
I have multiple! I typically start with water to get hydrated, then move on to coffee with coconut creamer and a tiny bit of low glycemic coconut sugar, followed by a fresh green juice. Between the three, they energize me, and provide a flush of toxins out of my body first thing in the morning!
What Inspired You To Seek A Career As A Health Coach?
My ‘why’ is spreading the message that I wish I had as a young girl, and that is that Self Love is the most important pillar of our health. This concept is not practiced much in our society today. I believe that putting yourself first, when it comes to life, health, love, etc., and taking time to do the things that make you feel YOUR best, is the least selfish thing you can do for yourself. I also am a big believer that there is no ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to health and wellness, and we simply have to find what works for US! Spreading this message and the importance of it, is what inspired me to be a health coach.
Young Women Today Struggle With Their Body Image And Look To Find The Perfect Diet. What Advice Do You Give A Client On Making Healthy Food Choices?
Of course, they do – and I did too! And that’s because of the diet mentality that is so prevalent in our culture. The biggest piece of advice I give is to have an addition mindset vs. an elimination mindset when it comes to food (and life for that matter.) I pick three things, I tell my clients to have on their plate at each meal, and then they are free to ADD whatever else they need from there to feel both full and satisfied! I also stress removing any and all restrictions. Removing restrictions is what allows us to truly be intuitive with our bodies, which is something I believe, is SO important.
Best Tip For Creating A Day To Day Work-Life Balance…
Remember that taking care of yourself first ,and creating time each day for things that are going to make you feel good and fill your cup, is the LEAST selfish thing you can do for yourself. When you take care of yourself, then you are able to show up as the best version of you for work, your partner, and your friends, etc.
Fave Way To Reset Your Thinking Process
Implement the pause! I love to remind my clients that emotions only last about 90 seconds. Take the time to pause in order to re-shift the narrative on the situation. You can take a deep breath, go on a walk, or even do a short stretch, or meditation to help shift your mood and change your mindset.
Who Do you Admire The Most?
My mom! She is the reason I got interested in health and wellness. She has the approach to life that every day is worth making the most of. She’s overcome so much adversity and is insanely confident, positive, and has a love for life which inspires me!
Healthy Tips From Your Travels? What Makes These Tips So Unique?
I love the Italian and French way of eating because they truly take time to enjoy their meals. Each meal is a celebration and they eat mindfully, which does WONDERS for our digestion. In our culture, we’re constantly multitasking which isn’t the best for our cortisol levels or our digestion.
